About 50 people were killed in the Second Battle of Hogwarts, but most of their names are not given. 

 

 

 

 

Since the group's break-up, rumours have persisted of a reunion. UK national tabloid The Mirror  even dedicated front-page space and half of their double page, daily entertainment news to what was supposedly their scoop, that the girls were back, reforming for the Live 8 concerts. Organiser Bob Geldof confirmed at a press conference on May 31, 2005 that he had been in contact with all of them and was serious about wanting them to reform but it was all five of them or nothing. In the end, the girls were unable to reform due to prior obligations in the US by Melanie B. The girls also hoped to perform at the Concert for Diana but were unable due to timing constraints and that Emma was heavily pregnant at the time.

                                                   

On June 28, 2007 after months of speculation, the Spice Girls announced an eleven date world wide tour entitled "The Return of the Spice Girls" kicking off in Los Angeles on December 7, 2007.

The tour will support the November release of a greatest hits album through Virgin Records. In addition, filmmaker Bob Smeaton will oversee an official documentary on the reformed band, which will be distributed worldwide at an undisclosed date. On the documentary, Geri said, "You are going to get to know what is behind the stories that you've heard, it's going to be the most honest story you've ever heard, you're going to get to see the dark side of the Spice Girls, the gritty side, the tears". The Spice Girls confirmed that all of their previous hits will be performed and that Geri will also join the girls to perform the number one hits that the girls achieved without her. They also have confirmed that the recording of new material is a possibility.

                             

The group admitted the reunion is unlikely to become permanent. "We want our kids to see what we do," said Beckham, who is married to soccer superstar David Beckham. "I might even get to be the cool one in my family for once".

                            

The Spice Girls have stated near the end of their first press conference since coming together that if a country wants them to visit it on their reunion tour, they just have to "let us know". In Canada, where the Spice Girls have sold over 2.2 million records, no tour date was announced in the country and fans have since then started petitions and Facebook groups in hopes that the Spice Girls will grant them their wishes and announce a tour date in Canada. In Brazil, only country where Forever confirmedly reached #1 in the Album Charts, a petition has been made to ask that the Spice Girls may announce a tour date in Brazil, as well. Other countries where fans who have started petitions include France and the Philippines, where all their singles reached the number one spot.

  I was so expecting much when I paid for my ticket to see this film, however this was the first time I actually considered leaving the theatre in the middle of a film because it was so bad.

The exclusive strip also houses Chanel, Bvlgari, and Tiffany & Co.

A favorite target for tabloid gossip  and the paparazzi,  Hilton appeared in the reality television series  "The Simple Life," and in 2003 an unauthorized sex video  with her former boyfriend appeared on the Internet.

The endless party that is Paris Hilton's lifestyle was gatecrashed by the long arm of the law on Friday as the socialite was sentenced to 45 days in prison for a parole violation.

The millionaire heiress to the Hilton hotel empire looked close to tears  as she wailed "I'm sorry, I'm sorry"   just moments before receiving her sentence at downtown Los Angeles' Metropolitan Court.

Hilton must start her sentence at the Century Regional Detention Facility on June 5 or else serve a 90-days jail term.

Paris' parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, both looked visibly upset  as the sentence was handed down to their daughter, one of the world's most photographed and famous women.

After the hearing, an outraged Kathy Hilton shouted at prosecutors: "You're pathetic!"  before asking sarcastically: "Can I have your autograph?"

Los Angeles city attorney Rocky Delgadillo said in a statement "the ruling sends a clear message that in the City of Los Angeles no one is above the law."

Hilton's parole violation conviction came after she was caught driving on a suspended license in February following her no contest plea to drink-driving.

Prosecutors had warned on Thursday they would seek a jail sentence for the blonde style icon but it did not deter Hilton from testing the patience of the court by turning up for her hearing at least 15 minutes late.

Soberly dressed in a dark suit with a white blouse, with her blonde hair swept back in a pony tail, Hilton did not comment as she arrived, running a gauntlet of at least 60 paparazzi and reporters.

Builders on a construction site opposite the court-house shouted  "Jail time!" to dozens of television crews and photographers who ringed the building in downtown Los Angeles.

Satellite television trucks crowded side streets and local news crews hovered overhead in helicopters, completing a surreal scene at the court, which normally deals with minor traffic violations.

Prosecutors told the court Hilton had been stopped on January 15 by California Highway Patrol and told that she was not allowed to be driving.

On that occasion, Hilton signed a police statement acknowledging that she was not supposed to drive, and she was let off with an informal warning.

But just over a month later she was hauled over again in Hollywood when spotted driving her  $190,000 Bentley Continental GTC at night with her headlights off.

Hilton's spokesman said his client was unaware she was violating her parole — but prosecutors dismissed that line of argument, citing the earlier brush with traffic police in January.

Hilton had lost her licence for alcohol-related reckless driving and was given 36 months probation.

 

    This rock chick not ready to play nice, ex-Spice Girl Melanie C, comes up with a couple of gems on her latest. Although the movie theme song I Want Candy grates with the remainder of the album, the remake of The Runaways' greatest hit is a frothy summer sensation, and Mel's collaboration with Cathy Dennis and Guy Chambers, Protected, has the potential to resurrect Ms Chisholm to the upper echelons of the charts.

Melanie Brown a former Scary spice gave birth to a baby girl, at one point rumoured to be named Fortuna Daphne Bay, on April 3, 2007, which is ironically also Murphy's birthday. Murphy is listed as the father on the birth certificate despite the ongoing paternity battle.Mel B has given her daughter Eddie Murphy's name — even though the Hollywood actor denies the child is his. The former Spice Girl has named her baby, Angel Iris Murphy Brown. "Mel was really distraught and humiliated by the way Eddie has treated her," says a pal. "Giving the child his surname is her way of telling the world Angel is his child."

Just got back from seeing The Reaping and I must say it was better than I expected. After the critics reviews and reading a majority of the rumours. I thought this movie was going to be horrible as I still know what you did last summer(3). Most the complaints was about the poor special effects. I've never been too impressed with CG in the first place, but this was as good as any I've seen lately. It has never looked real to me in any movie. As far as the storyline not being original, what film has been original in the last few years. There has been so many movies made in the last 80 years or so that it's gotta be difficult to come up with a never used theme at this point. I also believe when you have an actor the caliber of Hilary Swank in a movie they are held to a higher standard and are thusly criticized more harshly than others if their movies aren't stellar. This certainly was not an Oscar performance by Hillary Swank but for anyone who likes thrillers this was a good movie to watch!!! Give this one a try and judge for yourself

 

 

British pop band the SPICE GIRLS have been accused of only being interested in a reunion "for the money", after reportedly demanding £1 million ($1.95 million) per show, according to British newspaper The Sunday Express.
The WANNABE stars, who split in 2000, are said to be in talks for a TAKE THAT-style comeback tour, but promoters are weary of backing the shows because they fear they will never be able to recoup the costs of staging the concerts.
A source says, "The difference is that Take That weren't just in it for the money. They worked hard, wrote a new album and made their show a great spectacle.
"No one is convinced that the Spice Girls can still do that.
"The money they want will leave nothing for the promoters. Nobody wants to take them on."

I noticed a lot of parents and their children dissappointed  this movie , because they were expecting something else. Blame it on the promotion wing of Disney or yourself for not researching it a bit more.

 There is the question on whether the content of this movie is appropriate for young children. Judging from the trailers, I understand why parents were mad at Disney for misleading viewers. But at the same time, parents should always do diligence in researching a movie a little more beforehand. Judging a movie by its trailer, especially if you are taking your kids, is not the wisest of moves.

I think this movie is wonderful for adults and children alike. It deals with some major issues in new and creative ways. Jess and Leslie deal with their problems by recreating them in an imaginary world where they can be the things they aren't in real life. This gives them the strength to deal with them in the real world.

The more serious issues are handled in a way that parents can appreciate as not too "adult" for their children, and children as not too "grown-up" for them to grasp.

Fans of the book will be happy to know that CGI effects do not overshadow the themes of the book, and though they make up a large part of the trailer, they actually make up less than a third of the movie.

Kids and adults, be warned : bring the tissues.  ( as my frd, Rambosster was crying while she watched this movie)

 

 

 

 

 

Victoria Beckham is to star in her own reality show. The former Spice Girl is in talks with an American TV channel about making a fly on the wall documentary about her family's move to LA later this year. The deal is being handled by former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller. "The Americans were falling over themselves to sign Victoria up for a TV show but we had to choose the right deal for her," he says. "They have really taken a shine to Vic's hilarious sense of humour and they want to capitalize on this." It's thought Victoria will earn $24.8million from the show.
