Victoria has also been quoted as saying the Spice Girls are indeed working on new material. "It's been so many years since I've done any singing it freaked me out. This mic was put in front of me and I was like 'woah'. It was surreal being back in [the studio]. I always said I wasn't ever going to sing again and I really didn't expect to. But once I got going it was fun. The new songs are a progression of the old Spice stuff - nothing radical and still poppy but a bit different. We are all impressed with them."

Melanie C revealed further to the press on June 18, 2007:

"For the first time ever, there is some truth in the rumors. We've been discussing it and it could possibly happen. I've always said, I don't want to do it, the past is the past. It was amazing, it was magical. We could never re-create it But this year people have been talking about it and some of the girls have expressed an interest in doing it. There is just so much great feeling out there and I just thought, You know what, I don't want to be the person that stops it happening or stops it being a five-piece. If the Spice Girls were to get back together it would be for a very short space of time. It would be a final goodbye and a 'thank you' to all the fans all over the world."
